hi, my name is _____, i am an addict.

there is beauty laced in dependency; for opium is a drug but it is also a flower. i am fluent in the language of addictive habits. however unhealthy, i stay faithful to my fixes; to drugs, to danger or to you. i usher these meds into my mouth with an eager tongue; little heart shaped pills labeled boldly with ‘…. but what if you die?’

i admit there is beauty laced in dependency; for the risk resembles the love romeo has for juliet. ‘without you, i will die.’

it’s you and me. life or death. all or nothing. numb me or kill me. opium gets to make that beautifully toxic decision. i swallow the pill and whisper

‘you choose’.
